Chocolate agouti

A chocolate agouti rat is mainly recognised by what it is not. If your rat looks like a cinnamon when she’s beside her agouti sisters, but looks just like a normal agouti when placed beside cinnamon rats, then it’s probably a chocolate agouti.

This variety isn’t standardised as it isn’t shown in the UK, being too close to both agouti and cinnamon to really warrant a separate class.

Genetics: Agouti with the chocolate gene (A-bb)

Description: Resembles an agouti, but the black ticking is replaced by deep chocolate ticking, giving an overall effect of a bright agouti.
